Classical Music

"Without Music, Life Would Be A Mistake" Friedrich NIETZSCHE

You are now listening Bach: Aria from Goldberg Variations by Glenn Gould

My favorite composer: Franz Schubert

I love rock and classical music. These two types of music are not incompatible. Classical music does not mean old or old-fashioned music. Actually, Beethoven seems far more rock and roll than some contemporary rock musicians. Sometimes classical musicians even became rock musicians: John Cale for instance was an alto player before being a member of the Velvet Underground.

You are sad and melancholic, it's a rainy day, life seems so meaningless and absurd, you have one thing left to do: listen to classical music.

 SYMPHONIES

Franz SCHUBERT (1797-1828) - 9 symphonies - My favorites: N°6, 8, 9

Ludwig Van BEETHOVEN (1770-1827) - 9 symphonies - My favorites: N°3, 5, 7, 9

The glorious 9th of Ludwig van is the favorite music of Alex in Kubrick's Clockwork Orange

"O bliss, bliss and heaven, oh it was gorgeousness and georgeosity made flesh. The trombones crunched redgold under my bed, and behind my gulliver the trumpets three-wise, silver-flamed and there by the door the timps rolling through my guts and out again, crunched like candy thunder. It was like a bird of rarest spun heaven metal or like silvery wine flowing in a space ship, gravity all nonsense now. As I slooshied, I knew such lovely pictures. There were veeks and ptitsas laying on the ground screaming for mercy and I was smecking all over my rot and grinding my boot into their tortured litsos and there were naked devotchkas ripped and creeching against walls and I plunging like a shlaga into them." (Clockwork Orange)
